Messaging in Chat

Introduction to Chat

Chat in TaskOrbiter is similar to existing products that you may be familiar with but we have taken it a step further. Instead of having to use a messaging application and another to manage your tasks, all of your conversations will live next to your work. Chat empowers you to direct message Workspace members, create group chats, have a dedicated Topic and house all of your attached chats for pages and tasks.

Whether you need to jot down a few notes to yourself, have a group conversation or send files back and fourth, you can do it all with Chat.

Creating a new message

To send someone a new message, you can easily do this by clicking the New Message button at the top of your Chat sidebar.

Direct Messages

These types of chats are meant for individual users and you can start a conversation with members of your Workspace by selecting them from the users dropdown.

Group chats

If you need more than one person in your DM’s then you can add people to create a group conversation. You can do this by clicking New Message then select all the users you would like to add to your conversation.

Sharing files

Sometimes conversations require us sharing files, whether its a PDF or a screenshot, you can add these attachments in your messages to share with others. You can also click the three dot button to the right of a file to preview the file, download, open in a new tab or delete if you sent the message.
